I think I started reading FG regularly in 2018 or 2019. Being frugal allows me to stay at home with our little ones, which was always a goal of mine, and my husband has been very supportive of that. My husband and I bought our first home in 2013 when interest rates and housing prices were pretty low. homemade bagels!

Unfortunately, we did not hit that goal and in part, have made some major changes to our Debt Freedom Plan. It is amortized over 30 years, so the minimum payment is really low, so not much gets applied to the principal. Over the years, we took advantage of low interest rates and refinanced and transferred the loan several times.
