How did you do with your Christmas spending in 2018? I get swayed too when I see the sales flyers for all of the pretty things. But if those gifts were paid with a credit card that doesn’t get paid off as soon as the bill arrives, any savings from store sales, coupons, and/or rebates might be negated from the interest accrued.

My monthly savings goal was $100. This should cover my tentative 2019 Christmas budget that I based on what we spent in 2018. I had amassed $70 and thought it was a perfect addition to our Christmas account. In April, we received a small tax refund and I put $100 of our refund into our Christmas Savings account.
