Good shoes are essential for me, as I have accessory navicular syndrome and like to be active. Also, we’re by a military base, so it’s a little easier to find houses to rent if you know when people will be PCSing out and needing to rent out their homes. And I am more conscious of eating leftovers and avoiding food waste.

Be sure to mention whether you are in the military, a teacher, a first responder, or AAA member. In our experience, Marriot offers the best military discount, so we try to stay at hotels within that brand. I’m passionate about food waste, and dinner portions are too much, bringing me to my next point.

” Sunrise on Lake Michigan I’ve moved a LOT – not as much as a military family, perhaps, but quite a bit for someone my age! My kids are able to bike to school and activities – my son even bikes to the airport where he takes flight lessons. ”, my response is always “How far back do you want to know?”
