Used bookstores, fair trade products, and locally sourced food/baskets/pottery are favorites, in addition to monthly outings with my kids. There’s always been garage sales/flea markets, library, state parks, fishing.

Limiting waste is what really drives most of the habits I have that would qualify as “frugal” – reducing/eliminating food waste, returning unneeded items, pursuing refunds, checking on warranties, repairing things, etc.

I also printed the food cards with clever food names (Galactic Grapes, Warrior Water, etc.). We used my son’s Boba Fett helmet to add a nice touch to the food table. Regular food is far more fun if you give it a cool Star Wars name. Food – $20.29. We used a black tablecloth ($0.90 for a 24 pk).
