A few years back, my extended family took a trip to Holland, Michigan. Besides dealing with my sudden unemployment when my oldest child was a toddler, I was hoping to figure out a way to extend my time at home with him. I have had times when it was necessary to stretch every cent, but thankfully we have more wiggle room these days.

” Sunrise on Lake Michigan I’ve moved a LOT – not as much as a military family, perhaps, but quite a bit for someone my age! Sunrise with my daughter at Lake Michigan Our son is now 15, and about 25 hours into his private pilot’s license, which he’s funding by earning money working for my father-in-law.
