It is time to normalize gifting thrifted items. Normalize Gifting Thrifted Items: Shop all year long! I yard sale and thrift all year long for my booth. Likewise, thrift stores are always full of people. Rather than spending money buying clothes in a new size every few months, I bought at garage sales and thrift stores. We’re fortunate to have an aunt and uncle who love to have the latest electronics and cameras. I’m in good company with my love of all things used.

My Aunt, God rest her soul, saved Christmas paper and those silly little paper bows from year to year. Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales. Christmas decorations, wrap, bows and ribbon all are continuous offerings at pretty much every garage sale, thrift store or estate sale I’ve ever shopped.

Thrift stores are also a great place to shop. Other treasured items we reuse every year include huge a mottled green glass ball ornament from my grandparents, a set of 1950′s angel candle holders from a favorite aunt and two 3 foot tall paper nutcrackers made by my kids in elementary school in the 1980′s.

My wedding dress, thrifted! My dad taught my mom how to drive manual, my uncle taught my aunt, my fiancé even taught his ex how to drive manual. It’s not hard for me (anymore) to avoid expensive stores or fast fashion sites such as Shein and Temu, and instead shop at thrift stores or use my local BuyNothing group.

These spaces are ideal for nestling in with a good book, a cup of tea and a luxurious (not frugal) cashmere throw like this.it''s very similar to one I inherited from my great aunt Evelyn several years ago. I don''t need to tell you that this is definitely an investment piece.
