What I Spent So I went to pull together my grocery spending for the week and I realized that it’s all quick trips to Safeway. What We Ate Saturday I made one of Zoe’s faves: the baked ham/Swiss sandwiches on King’s Hawaiian rolls. I spent $63 at Safeway, spread out between an embarrassing number of trips.

Bread, rolls, bagels, and other baked goods freeze really well, so when you find a great price, store in the freezer. Over the years, I have found produce, dry foods, cleaning products, paper goods, cereal, baked goods, and meat marked down 40% to 75% off. Baking products and hams will be on sale for Christmas and Easter.
