I have two nieces, both of whom are very creative (they take after their mother not my brother, their father). Blogger Rosie Alyea of Sweetapolita created this cute rainbow doodle cake for her daughter’s fourth birthday. It’s simple and adorable and makes her daughter (not the cake) the focus of the celebration.

The Maty’s story: In 1996, my daughter Maty was born with severe heart defects. I gave the baby and kid’s products to my brother for my niece. I am always looking for all natural remedies for illness and so Maty’s has been a great discovery for my family. It was a challenging time for our family.

The day starts/started with my mother or me or now my daughter getting up and stuffing the bird and getting it into the oven. Then my daughter required mashed potatoes. My nieces, my daughter and I sing all the songs, loudly , to the annoyance of my brother and son-in-law. I can still picture it in my mind.
