I take a collection of different types of beans and lentils, mix them nicely in a big bowl and then package them in pretty vintage or recycled jars. I've also used the taco seasoning mix I buy in bulk at Costco for this gift, in a pinch. There are numerous variations of this gift , of course, depending upon my time and resources.

The cups can be expensive versus buying coffee in bulk. I used coupons and bought the cups on sale, but the price still doesn’t compare to buying the same brand of coffee in bulk. I also did not realize that the plastic cups are not recyclable. When I bought the machine I didn’t do the math.

The argument in favor of paper towels includes the fact that many brands are now made from recycled paper waste , which is good for the environment. Of course, the big factor in most people’s lives is cost; you need to continually buy paper towels if they are your cleaning cloth of choice, so they do represent an on-going expense.
