My mother grew up on a farm, and from her accounts my grandmother and grandfather (who also was a foreman at the local glass factory, along with being an independent farmer) were frugal, and sometimes times were tight. Don’t shop at the “poor places” (KMart was one of those, as well as the dollar stores). Not at all.
