No kids = no money on candy = no candy wrappers in the landfill. We do put up decorations (ones I buy at garage sales or thrift stores and reuse each year). Buy one then sell, donate or exchange it. Around here, some communities have taken to doing a one day costume exchange.

Also, thrifting —I very rarely buy new, it’s normally secondhand. I used to garage sale quite a bit for my kids’ toddler and preschool clothes but as they’ve gotten bigger and pickier I have better luck finding what they’ll wear in their size at the thrift store. I try to buy what’s on my list and nothing else.

Am I Frugal – or Cheap?

The stain went on fast and easy, but I had to wait for warm weather to apply the sealer because we wanted lacquer. Believe me, brush on lacquer is s-t-i-n-k-y! I had to part with $35 to buy one of those paint masks to even be able to apply it. PS, I have one dress that is at least 35 years old. Cheap or frugal?
