Hold a garage sale together. A cake walk. Bake a cake together and use it as the prize for the winner of this event. When the music stops, someone draws one of the numbers (which have been put on slips of paper and into a bucket) and whoever is standing on that numbered mat wins the cake. Have a hula hoop contest.

It is hard to estimate the cost of the cupcakes since they were homemade, but it was definitely far less expensive than a bakery cake – even though I made them gluten-free. I am not very skilled at cake decorating so I made cupcake toppers instead. There are lots of great ideas for games, cake decorating, costumes, and more!

A cake with a perfect swirl! He got his roofing urges out when he build our garage last year though!) I teach because I love my subject and it gets me out of the house. I like to bake and read, and I spend time chauffeuring kids to activities and games. I volunteer at my kids’ school at lunch time and other events.

Oreo Spiderweb cake There, I’d make everything from homemade bread to Steak Diane (seriously – my mom came to visit one time and bought $100 worth of beef tenderloin so I’d have leftovers – at the time, that was like 5lb of tenderloin! Hosting garage sales & reselling items.
