Our home was heated with a coal stove. On Christmas eve, gangs of kids caroled from house to house. Christmas was a one week event – between Dec 25 and Jan. Most city folks bought their tree at a lot, Christmas tree farms weren’t open to individuals. Most food at the grocery store came from the USA.
