Women wore ‘house dresses’ to clean house and all the time at home. Gasoline stations did not serve food, have coffee or provide bath rooms. There was, of course, no space travel nor any satellites (at least until Sputnik in 1957). They used aprons over them when they cooked. No, I didn’t wear a poodle skirt!
