If you are in more of a hurry, find a thrift store instead. But, find one in a high end neighborhood, one where the store sorts through the donations to select only the best. That way, I can hit a lot of sales in just a few hours instead of spending time and gasoline driving around town. Books and DVDs.

Most of us did not have clothes dryers, we dried the clothes on a line outside. There was no polyester clothing. Clothing had to be ironed to look good. Gasoline stations did not serve food, have coffee or provide bath rooms. Most of us did not have air conditioned homes. Some of us did not have central heat.

You can make it fun for you kids by running a household scavenger hunt in which you reward you children for finding household items to donate, such as clothes, toys, books, old appliances, and canned goods. You can even reward them with extra allowance with the money saved on gasoline and car upkeep.
