I’ve been an architect, day-care teacher to toddlers, and library clerk, but am currently a SAHM to a 14yo son and 9yo daughter. When we lived in a bigger city, we had great resale stores for used clothing and toys. I really miss our old secondhand stores with good condition items sorted into specific sizes!

We do put up decorations (ones I buy at garage sales or thrift stores and reuse each year). Compost it by cutting it up and putting it on the pile. My daughter-in-law came up with this idea, buying bulk pumpkins and bulk flowers. No kids = no parties or haunted houses = money saved. Tip # 2 Recycle/reuse costumes.

So, I checked in with my daughter-in-law to see what she thought they would have fun doing and that would be fun for her to get. You can buy just enough cement for one or two garden stones at places such as Hobby Lobby, but you can get a whole bag of it just as cheaply from a building supply store, such as Lowes or Home Depot.
