Growing up in the fifties made me everlastingly grateful for a number of things, such as hot running water, central air conditioning, automatic dishwashers, TV remote control, the internet, personal computers (typewriters really sucked – no backspacing!), Working from home usually meant selling stuff door to door.

Needs vs. Wants

Home offices. Yes more folks work from home these days and the tax laws encourage setting aside a space to dedicate to a home office. Even though most families cooked and ate at home back then, kitchens were pretty basic. Personal computers. I managed with one until I was 30. 200+ TV channels.
