There was the gas, the hotel, and the restaurants to pay for. We thought eating in restaurants was a main attraction of travel because you get to try local foods. However, most of the time, we only had money for the low cost restaurants, so they were all one greasy spoon after another. Use discounts on rental cars.

We usually go with one empty credit card, put everything on that ONE card so it’s easy to keep track of, and try our best not to go over our spending goal. Another cost to factor into flying is whether or not you’ll need a rental car when you arrive at your destination. We almost always drive!
