For 20 or so years I’ve been homeschooling my kids, and am now down to about 1 1/2 (one full-time homeschooler, and one doing College Credit Plus with some support). Eventually, when I was married and working at a library I ordered my own copy of the Complete Tightwad Gazette–and I still have it! Biggest mistake ever.

Limiting waste is what really drives most of the habits I have that would qualify as “frugal” – reducing/eliminating food waste, returning unneeded items, pursuing refunds, checking on warranties, repairing things, etc. The freedom was amazing. This was in the early 1990s, for reference.
