High gas prices got you down? Use cruise control. This helps reduce pollution by preventing gas fumes from heating up and thus creating ozone. Those instructions are there on the gas pump for a reason. Why carry around all that extra weight, which not only costs you more in fuel but also more wear on your engine.

I had a conference in Dallas a few weeks ago and they wanted me to check out the amazing gas mileage in the Mazda 3i. I drive a gas-guzzling mom mobile, a mid-size 8-seat SUV that costs more than $65 to fill up. So our gas expense is a little ridiculous. I made the entire trip on a single tank of gas.
