Use cruise control. It’s just creating drag which reduces your fuel economy. Do not change it every 3,000 miles as your local oil change place wants you to do. Follow the instructions in your car’s manual. My truck, for instance, needs a change ever 5,000 miles or so. Keep tires inflated. Remove the roof rack. Maintain your vehicle.

The EPA Fuel Economy Estimates for the Mazda 3i Grand Touring are 28 MPG for city driving and 40 MPG for highway driving. I actually was getting a little bit higher on the highway but there was zero traffic on my way home and I had it on cruise control the whole way. I filled up at $3.56 I found this to be pretty accurate.
