We used vinegar and water to wash the windows and old newspaper (back when people still actually read the paper) to dry and polish them. Put Some Vinegar On It. Vinegar is cheap and environmentally friendly. Vinegar is cheap and environmentally friendly. That saying could well be “Put some vinegar on it”!
