Americans historically have not haggled for better prices on most items. To keep up we need to learn that negotiation (aka haggling) is acceptable, expected and useful. We need to practice haggling. Growing up in America in the fifties and sixties, I seldom saw negotiation in action. It was humiliating to have to haggle.

A Chain Saw, A Ladder, Some Trees & Me

We have some trees in our back yard that grow like weeds. I tend to be kind of a spur of the moment kind of gal, and when I decide I want something done, I want it done now, and I don’t want to have to haggle about schedules and who’s involved and whatnot. I call my daughter out to help.
