My standard of living (and most other people’s as well) is much better now that we have all of the conveniences from the past 60 years available. There were no day care centers – women stayed home and raised the kids. Working from home usually meant selling stuff door to door. Entertainment.

Needs vs. Wants

Home offices. Yes more folks work from home these days and the tax laws encourage setting aside a space to dedicate to a home office. Even though most families cooked and ate at home back then, kitchens were pretty basic. I managed with one until I was 30. But do you need a whole room dedicated to it?
