Each month, I have wondered how can I cut down the cable bill since my kids like certain cartoon channels that I have to pay for (that are not free with basic cable) and I like BBC America, TLC, Discovery and Sci Fi channels, for example. There are hundreds of free movies and tv shows online –that means you can turn off cable for good!

A year ago, my family gave up our beloved cable TV. I said good-bye to the real housewives of Bravo TV and my husband said adios to ESPN. We purchased a Roku 2 Streaming Player for our family room TV. There are others, such Sony, Apple TV, and select DVD players. This is how we watched the Super Bowl.
