Fashion changes and new or nearly new clothing gets sold at sales or donated to charity. Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales. This one is heavy duty metal and oak with brass hardware. I used it for years and sold it – for $25 – last summer in my own garage sale.

Check out some thrift stores, vintage stores, flea markets, and garage sales. Pick out your desired paint color at the hardware store and ask the sales person what you will need to paint a room. If you can’t sell something, consider donating it and at least getting the tax write off. But there is good news.

Of course, to protect the glass and window/door hardware you have to tape and paper it. There is a lovely thrift store not far from my neighborhood that receives donations from the folks in the local golfing gated community. Otherwise I would have lost brain cells and gotten sick to my stomach. Cheap or frugal?
