Years ago, Mom introduced me to the idea of going to garage sales. People sell the darnedest things at their garage sales. Garage sales take time, you have to hit quite a few before you find the item you want or need. An outdoor bench with oak slats and iron insets for $2. I love a bargain. My best finds.

Even re-organizing the garage can leave you with a chill. If you plan to re-organize your closet and drawers, take the opportunity to go through your clothing and sort it into “keep”, “discard” and “donate” piles. Donate the items you no longer want to keep. Wipe Down the Walls.

Fashion changes and new or nearly new clothing gets sold at sales or donated to charity. Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales. Outdoor bench (I refurbished it) $5. I used it for years and sold it – for $25 – last summer in my own garage sale.
