If your child (or you) just has to have that store bought costume with all the non-biodegradable materials (you know, that one that costs you at least $20), then after its typical one time use, just donate to your local charity or sell it at your next garage sale or online.

Don’t Recycle, Reuse

Before throwing away old clothing, I snip the buttons off and remove working zippers (unless I’m donating the item). If you want to get fancy, draw, paint or sew buttons on it for eyes. We save them to use for a variety of purposes, such as holding paints, storing popcorn bags and yes, making Christmas cookie tins.
