In an effort over the years to save money at the grocery store and reduce our waste, I’ve found reusable alternatives to many paper products that we were using. Examples: Replace paper napkins with cloth napkins. Skip the paper towels and instead keep some old towels and rags under your kitchen sink to clean up kitchen spills.

If you are in more of a hurry, find a thrift store instead. But, find one in a high end neighborhood, one where the store sorts through the donations to select only the best. I save tape and paper and old paint drop sheets. Of course, to protect the glass and window/door hardware you have to tape and paper it. The paper is pretty inexpensive at around $3 a roll. As I was finishing up the sunroom windows and doors yesterday, I carefully removed the paper over the windows and saved it.
