Schools usually only had one or two TVs available for the entire school. Lots of people had back yard gardens. There wasn’t a restaurant on every corner and people didn’t eat out much. Gasoline stations did not serve food, have coffee or provide bath rooms. Kids walked to school. Alone or with a friend.
