Schools usually only had one or two TVs available for the entire school. There wasn’t a restaurant on every corner and people didn’t eat out much. Out of season produce, if available at all, was super expensive. All TV was free. Kids walked to school. Alone or with a friend. Most people were thin.

Needs vs. Wants

A TV in every room. Our parents had TVs (most of them), but typically only one per household. TV was family entertainment and watched as a family. Many homes today have multiple TVs, some have one in pretty much every room. Would you want to live in a one bath 2 bedroom home now with a family of 4 or 5?
