If you are a frequent driver, then changing a fossil fuel car for an electric one can have huge benefits. Aside from no longer having to buy petrol (a great bonus considering the skyrocketing fuel prices), an electric car emits an average of 60% less CO2 than a petrol-powered car with an exhaust.

The report found that the Chevy Volt, the electric car that gets the equivalent of 61 miles to the gallon, would cost more after five years than the Chevy Cruze ILT. Clearly, there are other factors at play here, just beyond the fuel savings. Are green cars all they’re cracked up to be? What do you think?

High gas prices got you down? However, buying a new car isn’t in the cards for me right now, so I have to make due with the one I have. Why carry around all that extra weight, which not only costs you more in fuel but also more wear on your engine. Shut the car off. Buy fuel-efficient tires. Remove the roof rack.

Buy A Scooter If you want to feel the breeze in your face but are afraid of climbing up on that Harley, check out small gas or electric-powered scooters. They are incredibly fuel-efficient, cheap to buy and insure, and emit way less pollution than automobiles do. High gas prices got you down? Even someone who does not drive.

By providing unlimited free long-distance driving powered by only the sun, Tesla is helping owners offset the hefty price tag of this new technology. In addition, it will also eliminate the argument many have about electric vehicles in that while they run on batteries, they still charge up using power from fossil fuel burning power plants.

Don’t believe anyone when they say drilling will bring down gas prices right away; it won’t. While the number of drilling permits issued has increased by something like 360% over the last 10 years, gas prices have tripled during the same period. More drilling does not equal lower prices at the pump. Yes, a barrel, not a gallon.
