School started after Labor Day and ended after Memorial Day. Gasoline stations did not serve food, have coffee or provide bath rooms. Most cars did not have radios, non had any other kind of electronics. Heck, there were barely chain guards! There were lots of kids to play with (we were the baby boom after all).
