The gift my grandparents really want is to spend time with my family and we enjoy spending time with them. This is a great idea for seniors, friends who don’t have family nearby, college students, or just about anyone on your list. My aunt gifts her nieces and nephews with loaves of homemade cinnamon bread every Christmas.

It’s been a family favorite for nearly 20 years! That sounds good (lies)” As you can probably guess, it was delicious and has been a family favorite for nearly 20 years. My kids, sisters, nieces, and nephews all make it now too. Elbow macaroni is traditional but my family loves cavatappi noodles.

If you really want to get personal with your gift giving, you can make something to give to your friends and family. My sister-in-law routinely gives items that she crochets. We found a toy car made from recycled materials for my young nephew, and I once received a journal made with recycled paper.

My sister-in-law and her husband had one that they used and rented out and indicated that it was doing well. I wanted a place for our family to gather – adult children and grandchildren along with us. Family members may not use it as much as anticipated. Extended family members expect free days. Hint: not mine.
