We found the best price for the Gentle Leader Headcollar at Amazon (that is my affiliate link) at around $8 less than the big box pet store. Ruby isn’t a big fan of the new collar, but she LOVES her walks more, so it’s staying! The girls and I hit my favorite thrift store this week.

I am having a lot of luck with thrifting this spring. We found summer jammies and shorts at our favorite thrift store a few weeks ago. I also stumbled on a yard sale recently that had girls clothes in great condition marked at 3 for $1. I hit the jackpot and as of right now, her summer wardrobe is pretty much complete.

People opened their windows and used attic fans or sat in metal lawn chairs outside to cool off. Girls and women wore dresses or skirts. Girls could not wear pants or shorts to school. Most of us did not have air conditioned homes. Most of us did not have clothes dryers, we dried the clothes on a line outside. People dressed up.

I know a lot of people fear the empire waist, but personally I am a fan. It makes me feel skinny and well proportioned (by which I mean it makes my boobs look big, and I like for my boobs to look big because I grew up so flat chested and frankly, I am still excited just to HAVE my big-girl boobs). And the length on this one is perfect!
