Ours was smaller (about 700 square feet) – 2 bedrooms (my brother and I shared one and my parents the other), a kitchen and a living room, No basement or garage. There were no garage door openers. Food/shopping.

Limiting waste is what really drives most of the habits I have that would qualify as “frugal” – reducing/eliminating food waste, returning unneeded items, pursuing refunds, checking on warranties, repairing things, etc. For me, being in the kitchen and making food for people is an act of love. Pack what you can!

It’s not a big splurge, but I take my kids at home out to McDonald’s for lunch once a week. (I’ve If I could spend it without strings, I might just donate it to a food pantry. He got his roofing urges out when he build our garage last year though!) I also hate mending – which is not frugal at all.
