There weren’t any McDonald’s but there were Steak and Shake and White Castle’s here and there. Stores like Sears and JC Penney sent out free merchandise catalogs 3 inches thick and people ordered their stuff from those if they couldn’t find it in a store. All TV was free. Food/shopping. Entertainment.
