All those items got plenty of use as all three of my kids used them. Many of the other items I needed like cloth diapers and clothes for the baby in bigger sizes I bought from garage sales. Garlick got all of her children’s clothes and gear from friends, family, and sites like Freecycle.

Many of you have specifically asked where to find used equipment. When you can, it is imperative that you use jars that are specially made for canning. Never try to use non-canning jars to preserve your food – doing so could lead to dangerous (invisible) bacteria growing in your food. Canning Jars.
