In 2007 or so, though, I got a nightstand from Freecycle, and I decided to try painting it. I am sure that if I did it again now, I’d do a better job, but it turned out well enough to give me inspiration to do more painting. But no furniture!

Many years ago, I got a little wooden chest from freecycle. The freecycle chest is pretty small. And I filled a few spots on the sides as well. I painted it white, and I put it in Zoe’s room, and then Lisey’s, and then when I moved here, I brought it along and kept it in Lisey’s room. Long live the minivan!

Garlick got all of her children’s clothes and gear from friends, family, and sites like Freecycle. The article specifies that Garlick did not buy any birthday or Christmas presents for her children, but I’m sure that they got items from well-meaning relatives. It turns out, quite easily.

It saves them money, as well as saving the planet! Look for a consignment shop in town, visit Freecycle web site, or check the Classifieds before you go to the store to buy new. Bring Your Own Grocery Bags. Many stores are perfectly willing to let you bring in your own reusable grocery bags. You might be surprised at what you can get.

Well, you know the saying… ask and ye shall receive! You might even luck out and find one listed on Freecycle or in your local paper’s classified ad section. Canning lids are extremely cheap and well worth the investment to purchase new. Many of you have specifically asked where to find used equipment.

You can then take those old cell phones, clothes or magazines to the appropriate recycling depots, ustilize websites such as Craigslist or Freecycle to give away any items you want cleared out quickly and then have a yard sale or an online auction to rid yourself of those unwanted items that are still in saleable condition.

You can plant your seedling in a container as well, without removing it from the eggshell. They can be found around your house, or found at yard sales or via freecycling. Eventually the shell will break down, so you can just plant it outside intact. It’s possible to give a number of items new life as part of a container garden.
