Garage sales, estate sales, and moving sales are all great places to look for used furniture. While we do frequent the library, there are some books that we like to re-read, and owning them is a practical solution. They lasted us several years, including two cross-country moves. Are you too proud to buy used jewelry? Don’t be!

Ours was smaller (about 700 square feet) – 2 bedrooms (my brother and I shared one and my parents the other), a kitchen and a living room, No basement or garage. There were no garage door openers. There was no internet.

You can also visit your local library and check out DVD’s for free. Check out local thrift stores, Craigslist ads, and garage sales for low cost (and sometimes free!) Sometimes second hand sports stores also carry this type of equipment. YouTube has hundreds, if not thousands of free workouts available.

Shop around at garage sales, thrift stores and online classifieds for furniture and other household items. Go to the library. Instead of buying books, check them out of the library. If you calculate your mortgage interest, the cost of insurance and maintenance, buying can be much more expensive than renting.
