For small packages, find interesting magazine pages to use in wrapping. Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales. Christmas decorations, wrap, bows and ribbon all are continuous offerings at pretty much every garage sale, thrift store or estate sale I’ve ever shopped. Use paper from other sources.

Don’t be a Buy-It-New Snob

Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales. I used an old seat cushion I had and wrapped it with brand new material from another garage sale to pretty it up and make it softer, then stacked new throw pillows I found at yet another sale for $.50 Glass leftover containers 3 for $.75.

Organize Your Home

I carried this idea to our garage. Every home has those out of the way, hard to reach places, whether it is the top shelf of a closet, the attic, the basement, a far corner of the garage or the shed outside. Once I labeled the wall above or the shelf below with the type of things that belonged there, we started having less trouble.
