Manual cars are generally cheaper than automatic and have better gas mileage because they are lighter weight). So, I lost $2k on the sale and ended up with a more expensive car in the long run. This is recent. Last year I bought a manual car for $14k in cash, thinking I would learn to drive manual. I guess automatic cars LOL.
