Cheap (not just inexpensive, I mean cheap – easy to break) toys came from post-war Japan. Clothing had to be ironed to look good. Gasoline stations did not serve food, have coffee or provide bath rooms. In most places you wouldn’t have been able to find anything authentic from the civil war in the 1950′s.
