There weren’t any McDonald’s but there were Steak and Shake and White Castle’s here and there. Most food at the grocery store came from the USA. The only discount store was the 5 and dime aka ‘the dime store’ It did not sell food (except 1 penny candies). Lots of people had back yard gardens.
