Stores like Sears and JC Penney sent out free merchandise catalogs 3 inches thick and people ordered their stuff from those if they couldn’t find it in a store. Coupons were in the newspaper. The Sunday newspaper was the best source to get them. Most cars did not have radios, non had any other kind of electronics.
