My son was delighted with the used sewing machine my mother bought for him. A great way to give a unique gift, as well as help save the planet.

It is possible to give thoughtful gifts with very little money or even no money at all. We give the gift of a home-cooked meal to my grandparents. My aunt gifts her nieces and nephews with loaves of homemade cinnamon bread every Christmas. Give the gift of lessons. Last winter still gives me shivers—brrrrrrr.
