Seals’ grandfather was a Kentucky sharecropper and coal miner and his grandma worked on the farm. His dad drove a coal mining truck and worked as a crane operator for GM until he retired. Penned by Seals, Kathy White and Bill Whyte , “Deeper Shade of Blue-Collar” was written as an ode to all the blue-collar workers.
