Grandkids Real Estate Recession Taxes

It seemed reasonable to devote a greater portion to real estate, in order to further diversify our portfolio. We planned our purchase in the heady days just prior to the recession of 2008/2009. If we hadn’t generated that gain, our taxes would have been lower. Our accountant charges a lot to do our taxes.

Before retiring I often wondered about life after retirement – would we have enough money , would it change our marriage, would the kids and grandkids have different expectations, what if catastrophe struck and money became an issue, what would I do, would I miss the daily interaction with the people with whom I worked for many years?
