I’ve been an architect, day-care teacher to toddlers, and library clerk, but am currently a SAHM to a 14yo son and 9yo daughter. Another big win would be taking advantage of our great public library system. This doesn’t include the many free in-library activities we’ve enjoyed over the years. Enjoying some outdoor time.

My wedding dress, thrifted! I would like to pursue higher education in some way, maybe a History PhD, or a library science degree? One of my friends in my book club lives about 20 minutes from our city limits and does not have access to a free library membership! I was ASTONISHED, I thought everyone had access to a library.

Back when I was engaged and living on my own for the first time (I lived with my parents while in grad school to save on rent), I went to the library a lot and found a copy of the Tightwad Gazette. Eventually, when I was married and working at a library I ordered my own copy of the Complete Tightwad Gazette–and I still have it!

Brian and me at the Sears Tower Having our first child just one month after our first wedding anniversary was NOT in the plan, but so far it’s worked out well! I biked to the library, to the mall, to the TCBY, to visit my parents at their offices in the university, to the pool, basically everywhere a kid would want to go.
