We have done a mix of home celebrations and outside activities this year, since more places are doing things. I have loved doing our at-home feast though, so we continued with it this year. I actually picked everything up from Trader Joe's (and one thing from Uwajimaya, a local Asian market).

And a bag of Trader Joe’s sweet potato fries. Wednesday Zoe had an evening work shift and I had lab until 8:00, so when we both got home, I made whole wheat blueberry pancakes for the two of us. Monday I picked up a rotisserie chicken from Safeway. We ate that with sautéed broccoli.

I buy the big bunches of kale when they go on sale at Whole Foods and easily get 2-3 meals out of them and I ADORE the roasted frozen corn at Trader Joe’s. Cooking at home gives you complete control over your ingredients, so you know what you are putting into your family’s bodies. It’s $2.39/bag
